Delete your account

You can delete your Chaos account and its data at any time. There are two ways, and both end with the same result.

In the app

  1. Open Chaos and go to the Me tab.
  2. Scroll to the bottom.
  3. Choose Delete account and confirm.

This takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. If you only want to sign out on this device, use Sign out instead — that leaves your account intact.

By email

Write to hello@joinchaos.ai from the address on your account. We will confirm it is you, delete the account, and reply when it is done — within 30 days, and usually far sooner.

What gets deleted

  • Your name, email address, handle and profile photo.
  • Everything Chaos learned about you — every personal preference on the Me screen.
  • Your sign-in sessions, on every device, immediately.
  • Your push notification tokens, so notifications stop.
  • Your Google or Apple identity link, if you used one.

What stays, and why

Messages you sent into a shared conversation remain visible to the other people in it, with your identity removed. Deleting them outright would tear holes in other people's conversations and rewrite a discussion they took part in. Conversations that were only ever yours go with the account.

We may also keep minimal records where the law requires it — for example to show we handled a deletion request. Those are not used for anything else.
